The Kebony technology is an environmentally friendly, patented process that enhances the properties of sustainable softwood with a bio-based liquid. The process permanently modifies the wood cell walls giving Kebony premium hardwood characteristics and a rich brown color. It installs twice as fast as ipê, is highly durable, and requires no maintenance beyond normal cleaning.
Kebony was invented and developed in Canada by Dr. Marc Schneider at the University of New Brunswick, and then further refined and commercialized in Norway. Recognized as Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum and listed as a Global Cleantech 100 company, Kebony has been embraced by leading architects and developers all over the world for a wide variety of applications.
Recently, with long-term performance studies surpassing expectations, Kebony upgraded its warranty from 25 to 30 years.
